High-tech Medical Projects are one of Assist's Highest Priorities.
We do this essential work around the world regardless of politics, religion or culture. The factors that motivate us are NEED and SUSTAINABILITY. Assist procures and installs the equipment (ICU/CCU/NICU monitoring with central station, step-down unit monitors, ultrasound, x-ray, etc.), trains both the medical and bio-medical personnel, brings all the consumables needed for the first year of operation and warranties all equipment for a full year.
Installing Intensive Care/Critical Care Systems -- Assist International works with great medical partners (GE, Salinas Valley Memorial Health Care System, Philips, Stanford University Hospital, etc.) in procuring, installing, training and maintaining life-saving equipment which is given to hospitals providing critical care. Recent projects include hospitals in Djibouti, Mali and Vietnam. Learn more about these projects.
Far Reaching & Long Lasting Results -- Not only do these projects start saving lives immediately, they:
Bring help to the most vulnerable of our world.
Provide the equipment western trained doctors need to do their best work.
Engage positive connections and influence with a nation's leaders.
Lift the healthcare system of a nation to a more effective and far reaching level.
Slow the "brain drain" of professionals who get frustrated by not being able to utilize their training and education due to a lack of equipment/tools.
Create the opportunity for future classes of doctors and nurses to gain exposure and training on this essential health care equipment.
Assist International has delivered Neonatal monitors to dozens of hospitals that are behind in medical standards. Doctors can now save the lives of newborns by detecting any early warning signs by using the monitors. Recent projects have helped hospitals in Hungary, Ghana, Uganda and Sri Lanka.
Fighting HIV/AIDS -- Africa is estimated to have more than 60% of the AIDS-infected population of our world, mostly in the countries located in the Sub-Saharan region. Assist International has partnered with the organization AOET which cares for children orphaned by and/or suffering with AIDS. HIV/AIDS Clinics and education through High School are also a part of this outstanding partner's activities. In countries like Uganda and Rwanda, Assist International has sent teams to build homes, schools and churches for the hundreds of displaced children affected by the AIDS epidemic.
